(5 December 2001 – 10:19) Six innocent persons were injured on Wednesday morning when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device on Jerusalem’s King David Street at 7:30am.

According to Jerusalem Police Chief Mickey Levy, the “very powerful” explosive device contained steel nails and bolts to maximize the devastation caused by the bomb. Police theorize the bomb detonated prematurely, in front of the Metzudat David (formally Jerusalem Hilton) Hotel in Jerusalem’s Mammilla neighborhood.

Six persons sustained light injuries. They were transported to the Hadassah (Mount Scopus) and Shaare Zedek Hospitals.

No organization has claimed responsibility for the latest bombing attack. 34 persons have been killed by Arab terror over the past eight days and over 300 injured. Dozens remain in hospitals while some of the victims, in critical condition; continue fighting for their lives. Others continue to show improvement, including the many that must resign themselves to a new reality, one that will include a life of physical disabilities.
