Oded Kiblitsky, 34, a resident of Tel Aviv, is missing in Cervinia, Italy, where he was on a ski vacation.
Daily newspaper Maariv reported Tuesday that Kibilitsky's disappearance was reported by management of the hotel he was staying in, after he failed to return to his room Saturday.
Hotel employees entered his room and found his personal effects there. Local police launched an investigation and started a widespread search in all of the local ski resorts, to try and locate the car he had rented and thus limit the area of the search.
The Israeli consul in Italy is also in northern Italy as part of the effort to locate Kiblitsky. The missing man's family members have flown to Italy from Israel and are receiving constant updates on the search for him.
Cervinia is situated 2,006 meters above sea level, at the foot of the Matterhorn.
