The Labor Party has finally resolved its problems, it appears, and will conduct new elections in 40 of 46 disputed polling places on Dec. 26. The election results for party leader on Sep. 4 were never officially ratified by the party, in light of accusations by the Ben-Eliezer camp of \"falsified results\" by the Burg camp.

The decision to conduct new elections only in the disputed areas is a victory of sorts for Ben-Eliezer. With the cancellation of some of the results, Burg\'s lead of 1,100 votes has now been replaced by a 400-vote disadvantage compared to Ben-Eliezer. The latter\'s position appears bright, as the Druze voters, whose election results were among those that were nullified, are not expected to come out in great numbers in the next round. The winner of this election will run the party only until shortly before the next national election, when another round of Labor Party primaries will be held.
