
Surveillance cameras in the Old City of Jerusalem helped police catch and arrest two Arabs who ambushed and attacked a Jewish man on the Sabbath. The cameras have increased the security of the area and raised the confidence of tourists that that they can visit without fear.
Border Police guards arrested the Jerusalem Arabs, in their 20s, after they attacked a 57-year-old man, as shown on a security video. The attackers had followed the Jews for several minutes, attacked them and then changed clothes in order to hide their identity.
The victim was treated at Hadassah Ein Karem hospital in Jerusalem for light wounds and was released.
Elsewhere, Israeli forces arrested an Arab during a demonstration aided by Israeli and foreign activists protesting the building of new Jewish homes in the Jewish community of Karmei Tzur, located between Kiryat Arba-Hevron and Gush Etzion south of Jerusalem.
