Officials have suspended until daylight a search in the Mediterranean Sea for a 26-year-old cruise passenger who fell overboard during a pleasure trip from Cyprus to Tel Aviv.
It is not known if the man fell accidentally or if he was pushed off or jumped on his own volition. Helicopters and ships from Cyprus, Israel and United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) joined in an all-day search for the man.
The Defense Ministry stated, "The search will continue until all means of the rescue operation have been exhausted.”
An SOS signal was received in the middle of the night that the Israeli was missing at sea on the Mirage cruiser.
