The construction freeze is definitely over in northern Jerusalem, according to a report on the News1 website. The site reports that eight tractors and bulldozers began preliminary work on infrastructure at a site in the neighborhood of Pisgat Ze'ev, in the first stage of a project for building 270 homes.

Work at the site began two weeks ago, was halted for the duration of the Sukkot holiday and restarted Sunday morning. The plots being prepared for building were recently purchased by private companies in tenders issued by the Israel Lands Administration.

The site is located near the security fence and the village of Hizme.

In the course of the past few months, the ILA has also sold 11 plots in areas of Jerusalem liberated in 1967, for construction of 479 housing units. A source in the Jerusalem Municipality told News1 that there is a “clear policy” by the government and municipality to speed up building in Pisgat Ze'ev and other neighborhoods in areas that were under Jordanian occupation between 1948 and 1967.
