A terrorist stabbed a Jewish man on Wednesday in Jerusalem. The attack took place shortly before the beginning of the Sukkot holiday.
The victim was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital with moderate wounds.
Dozens of Arab men rioted on Wednesday in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Mei Shiloach (Silwan) over the death of a local Arab terrorist. The man was shot as he attacked a Jewish security guard while armed with a knife. Police have backed the guard's actions, confirming that the attack was a planned ambush, and that the guard had no choice but to open fire in self defense.
A Jewish doctor who attempted to save the attacker's life before ambulances arrived was unable to do so, in part because his medical equipment had been destroyed weeks earlier in an arson attack carried out by the same terrorist.
As the slain attacker was buried, Arab rioters threw rocks at passersby, wounding three. Border Police officers dispersed rioters with stun grenades. One officer was lightly wounded by a rioter and required hospital care.
Attacks continued on Thursday, with Arab men hurling rocks at the homes of Jewish families in Ir David (City of David), outside the Old City. In Mei Shiloach, a Jewish man fired a warning shot during a confrontation with a local Arab.
