Prior to the attack in Jerusalem, IDF forces, accompanied by tanks, took over positions surrounding the PLO-controlled cities of Tul-Karem and Jenin. The IDF captured the positions with little resistance from Arab forces. The operation around Jenin disconnected the city from the surrounding Arab villages.



Last night there were also several other terrorist shootings reported, including fire directed at Jerusalem\'s Gilo neighborhood. The shootings in Gilo occurred just a few minutes prior to the bombings in the center of town.



The IDF made arrests in the Arab-populated Jerusalem suburb of Abu Dis following the wave of terror last night.
