Rabbi Chaim Wasserman's grandfather attended the Fourth Zionist Congress in London, in 1900. Rabbi Wasserman, President of the Council of Young Israel Rabbis in Israel, is attending the 36th Congress, in Israel. He told Arutz Sheva TV that the two congresses, past and present, have much in common.
Rabbi Wasserman said that his grandfather would have been "dancing up there with all of his friends in Paradise" had he known that his grandson would be attending the Zionist Congress as a delegate many years after he did.
He added: "This Congress comes to say, 'we have to pass on to the next generation that this is a fight and we are warriors in this fight.'"
