The Wafa news agency in the Palestinian Authority reports that Arab vendors in Jenin have found clever ways to sell Jewish-made products, for which the demand is apparently still high. They have simply printed up their own “Made in the PA” stickers, which they gum on to the Jewish-made products.
Arab affairs correspondent Haggai Huberman notes that police in Jenin have begun a comprehensive operation to ferret out the Jewish goods from the city’s markets. During their searches they found bottles of oil manufactured by Jews adorned with the forged PA stickers. “They are trying to be wise guys,” the local police commander said, “but we caught them!” Even he acknowledged, however, that some have been successful in selling Jewish-made goods.
