Netanya Mayor Miriam Feierberg-Ikar called for the deportation from Israel of treasonous Knesset members Wednesday. She said that MK Hanin Zouabi (Balad) should head the list of the Knesset members who should be expelled from Israel, following her participation in the anti-Israel flotilla.

Speaking at a commencement ceremony for graduates of the Academic College of Netanya Law School, the mayor said: “I was born in Akko (Acre), I had an Arab nanny, most of Israel's Arabs are loyal citizens who wish to live here in peaceful coexistence and oppose those who act against the state, supposedly for democracy's sake.”

Feierberg-Ikar noted that Israel had disconnected from Gaza and allowed Gaza's residents to live normal lives but they chose to elect Hamas and used their resources to harm Israel. She asked rhetorically: “What country would allow the firing of thousands of rockets on its residents for years on end?”

The idea of expelling disloyal Arab citizens is rarely uttered in Israeli public discourse, because the judicial system sees it as racist incitement. Stickers and T-shirts bearing the slogan “No Arabs – no terror” were ruled illegal and their bearers put on trial.
