Israel Police will conduct a wide-scale national exercise on Thursday, with the participation of all of the country’s security and emergency forces.
The exercise will take place in the early afternoon hours, and sounds of shooting and explosions will be heard. Police and other emergency vehicles will be seen in unusually large concentrations, roads and areas will be closed, and traffc jams are expected. The public has been asked to be patient and understanding.
Police will transmit information and instructions to the public in real-time via the electronic media, with the goal of reducing disruptions to routine as much as possible.
The police emphasize that routine anti-crime and security police work will continue even during the exercise.
A police drill was held at the Taba border crossing with Egypt on Wednesday. The Airports Authority emphasized that the drill was scheduled in advance, with no connection to the security warnings of a terrorist attack or kidnapping in the Sinai.
