One week ago Shmuel Cohen of Yitzhar was attacked by terrorists as he sat in the back seat of a car with his two children. The terrorists hurled heavy stones at the car near the entrance of Yitzhar; Cohen was hit in the head and moderately wounded.

He suffered a fractured skull in the attack, and lost a significant amount of blood before reaching the hospital. His children were unhurt in the incident.

On Thursday, Cohen's relatives told Arutz Sheva's Hebrew-language news service that despite being out of the hospital, Shmuel is still struggling to recover. He still suffers pain, dizziness, and difficulty sleeping, they said. “How can they release a man from the hospital after head surgery without doing extensive checks, and without referring him for rehabilitation?” a brother asked in frustration.

One day after the attack, IDF soldiers operating in Samaria captured the terrorist gang that had attacked Shmuel and other Jews on Samaria roads. The IDF also decided to station more troops near Huwara, an Arab town near Yitzhar, in order to deter attacks along the road.

Yitzhar town officials said they were pleased with the IDF's response. “We hope the IDF will return with full force to its true mission – an uncompromising fight against the enemy,” they said.
