Reuven Merhav, a former Mossad opperative and a Middle East expert Operative, participated in the International conference on 'Iraq Today: Between Unity and Disintegration'. Arutz Sheva TV spoke with Merhav about the situation in Iraq and the possibility that the regime will eventually be democratic and moderate.

The three-day international conference on 'Iraq Today: Between Unity and Disintegration' took place at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem this week, and was coordinated under the auspices of the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Center for Iraq Studies at the University of Haifa.

Sessions included: 'Iraq's future and its implications for Israel', 'The U.S. and Europe: Lessons and New Policies?', 'Oil, water and agriculture: Iraq between its neighbors' and 'Friends or foes: Iraq and its neighbors.'

Speakers included leading government, diplomatic, intelligence and academic figures from the Unites States, Israel and Iraq, including former U.S. Ambassador to Iraq and Dean of the Bush School of Government and Public Service Ryan C. Crocker (via video conference), former Israeli Ambassador to Iran Uri Lubrani, Former head of the Mossad Efraim Halevy, and Ambassador (ret.) David Zohar.
