IDF Brigadier General (Res.) Ilan Biton spoke with INR's Walter Bingham on missiles and air defense. Bitton spoke about the connection between the long range ballistic missiles and very short range rockets. "Both of these types of weapons are derived from the same enemy attitude – the indirect attitude," he explained.

"The other side has built up this strategy over many years against our system of defense. Now, we are now building up our capabilities toward active defense, to be able to intercept any kind of missile – short or long range. Israel's air defense is not just against ballistic missiles, but also against other types of threats, such as cruise missiles, aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, any threat that goes from the air to the ground."
