
IDF soldier Cpl. Mor Cohen, aged 18 from Afula, was killed Monday when a misfired bullet injured him in the head in the course of training at Zeura Base in the northern Golan Heights. His family has been notified of the tragedy.
Last August, Sgt. Or Haddad, 20, of Beit Dagan, was killed after he was accidentally shot by another soldier, Daniel Drezner, who had been playing with his weapon. Haddad was taken to Ziv Hospital in Tzfat in critical condition and later died of his injuries.
In August, a tank commander in the 188th Tank Regiment, Sgt. Uriel Peretz Liberant, was killed in a training accident in the Golan. He was 21, from Efrat. Three other soldiers were lightly injured when the tank they were in overturned. The tank had veered off a bridge and fell into a ditch.
Several days earlier, a Kfir Regiment armored vehicle slid into a ditch during training in the northern Jordan Valley. Nine soldiers were lightly hurt.
