It appears that three Israeli scientists were aboard a Swiss airplane that crashed last night outside Zurich. The plane, on its way from Berlin, crashed only minutes before the scheduled landing, and at least ten passengers were killed. The Foreign Ministry has learned that the three Israelis were apparently among them, and their family members are now on their way to Switzerland.
The three are Medical School Dean Prof. Yaakov Metzner of Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Prof. Amiram Aldor of Ichilov Hospital, and Avishai Berkman, the Director-General of the Economic Development Authority in the Tel Aviv Municipality. Of the 33 passengers, only nine people have turned up alive, and only ten bodies have been discovered so far.
