The family of former Chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu has requested that the public increase prayers on behalf of the rabbi’s health. In recent weeks, the rabbi’s condition has improved but he is still hospitalized in the intensive care unit at Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem.
Associates close to Rabbi Eliyahu told Israel National News “In recent weeks we saw improvement but in recent days there has been deterioration. Rabbi Eliyahu needs the mercy of heaven.”
The Chief Rabbi collapsed at his Kiryat Moshe residence in Jerusalem this past August and was treated at home by a medical team dispatched to the site. After several minutes he returned to consciousness and was transferred to the hospital for further treatment. In recent months, the rabbi has undergone a series of tests by doctors of Shaare Zedek.
