The owner of Chavat Gilad, Itai Zar, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of attacking police officers after a verbal altercation with a Border Police officer. He was released a short time later.
Arutz Sheva was told that Border Police and Civilian Administration forces arrived at Chavat Gilad to try and dismantle an illegal electricity infrastructure that had been placed there. A confrontation ensued, and Zar was arrested.
Itai Zar was also arrested earlier this year after he failed to show up for interrogation, police claimed. His father, legendary land developer Moshe Zar, claimed then that the decision to arrest his son was reached at the top levels of the police and IDF.
Chavat Gilad is named for Itai's brother, Gilad, who was killed by terrorists.
