Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman met Dutch Foreign Minister Maxim Verhagen Wednesday at the Hague. The two ministers discussed bilateral matters, international matters and regional affairs having to do with the situation in the Middle East and Israel's negotiations with the Arab world.
Regarding the "diplomatic process" between Israel and the PA, Minister Lieberman said at the meeting that it is important to create a positive dynamic and mutual trust between the two sides and listed four main matters that would facilitate this:
- Direct negotiations between the sides
- A commitment not to use violence and terror
- Ending incitement and intrigue on the international front
- Cooperation towards a meaningful improvement of the economic and security situation in the territory of the PA in Judea and Samaria
Minister Lieberman met the Speaker of the Lower House of the Dutch parliament in the afternoon and will hold a working meeting with the parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee later on.
