The organizers of last week's presidential conference in Jerusalem, "Facing Tomorrow," focused their final question on how to unite the world's Jews despite their myriad differences.
INN TV's Yoni Kempinski spoke with Leonid Nevzlin, who addressed, for the conference, the issue of "Jewish Peoplehood -- A Unity of Opposites."
Nevzlin is the founder of the NADAV Fund and chairman of the International Board of Governors of Beit Hatefutsot (Diaspora Museum). He is also the Associate Chairman of the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute.
Organizers of the conference summed up Nevzlin's session as follows:
"The Jewish People are dispersed throughout the world, speak different languages, uphold diverse traditions (or none at all), educate their children in different ways, and interpret their Jewish identity upon a wide spectrum. Despite these vast differences, how can we maintain a Jewish collective as one nation, and upon whom should this important task fall?"
