Relatives of Arab residents in Judea and Samaria who were killed during the war their compatriots began against Israel 14 months ago have filed suit in a Belgian court against Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his predecessor, Ehud Barak. The suit is premised on a Belgian law from 1993 that permits world leaders to be charged with \"crimes against humanity.\" The suit also names IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Sha\'ul Mofaz, Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, and soldiers serving in the army\'s Tarmit outpost in southern Gaza near Rafiach.

Earlier this week, a delegation sponsored by Israel\'s Terror Victims Association left for Belgium for the purpose of filing suit against Yasser Arafat for his own crimes against humanity. Some 30 family members of Jewish victims of Palestinian terrorism have appointed Atty. Yaakov Rubin to represent them. In addition, the TVA will be filing a class action suit in Belgium on behalf of the thousands of terror victims since Arafat began operations in the 1960\'s.

The current round of suits began with one against Prime Minister Sharon pertaining to the Sabra and Shatila massacres in 1982 by Christian Phalangists.
