Expellees from two Gush Katif towns will lay cornerstones this week in the communities that are to become their permanent new homes. In addition, residents of a third former Gush Katif town will celebrate with a new Torah scroll.

Representatives of the expellees expressed hope that more such events would follow, thanks to the Knesset's recent efforts to investigate delays in the resettlement of expellees.

On Sunday, the second day of the Sukkot holiday, expellees from the former town of Neve Dekalim will inaugurate a neighborhood in the town of Nitzan. In addition, future Nitzan residents will lay a cornerstone for the town's daycare centers. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.

On Monday, a similar ceremony will be held on the hill known as Givat Hazan in the Lachish region in southern Israel, in what is to become the town Bnei Dekalim. Rabbis, public figures, and at least one minister and Member of Knesset are planning to attend the 3:30 p.m. Ceremony.

Yet another festive event is planned for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Former residents of Netzarim will welcome a Torah scroll in the town of Bnei Netzarim. The scroll was donated by Kurt Rothschild, chairman of World Mizrachi.
