The interim report issued Tuesday by the Supreme Court-appointed commission tasked with investigating the government's treatment of expellees from Gush Katif has received rave reviews from Knesset Member Zev Bielski. The Kadima legislator applauded the report in an interview Wednesday with Israel National News TV's Yoni Kempinski.
Bielski served as chairman of the Jewish Agency during the days of the expulsion of almost 10,000 Jews from their homes in the Gush Katif region of Gaza and four communities in northern Samaria in August 2005.
"I think it's a recognition that we can't carry on as business as usual," Bielski told INN TV. " We have got thousands of people on our shoulders. It's our responsibility, and today the report says quite clearly that within days a solution must be made and people must come and be in their houses, not in a temporary situation, not in a caravan, not hoping, not committees, but as we say, 'tachlis!'"
