Security camera footage released by Israel Police Wednesday shows a group of eight Arabs assaulting two Jewish men at the Givati parking lot next to Jerusalem's Old City last Friday.
During the incident, one of the Jewish men fired shots at the Arabs, lightly injuring two of them. Police arrested him initially and interrogated him. He claimed that he only fired after he and his friend felt threatened by the Arab group. The video appears to corroborate his version of the events.
The actual moment of the shooting occurred after the confrontation captured by the security camera, and was out of the view of the camera. However, the footage supports the shooter's claim regarding the Arab's violent and threatening behavior.

The footage shows one of the two Jewish men exchanging words with the Arabs, who are behaving aggressively. The Arabs begin to push and kick him. The Arabs seem to leave the man alone, but can later be seen walking back in his direction. One of them is seen spitting at him.
Meanwhile, the man's friend is seen pointing a gun at the Arabs, who appear to ignore him.
Journalist Caroline Glick noted on her website Latma, which criticizes the Israeli media, that the headlines of the media reports on the incident made it seem as though the Jew fired at the Arabs for no reason.
