Iran has announced it is willing to negotiate with the West over its nuclear developent activities without preconditions.

Iranian state television quoted the country's nuclear envoy to the United Nations on Tuesday, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, as saying, "Talks without preconditions is Iran's main stance in negotiations on the nuclear issue."

The station added that Soltanieh had announced the Islamic Republic's readiness to participate "in any negotiations based on mutual respect."

Iran is facing an imminent deadline that will force it to decide between a deal to accept trade benefits in exchange for suspending its uranium enrichment program, or increasingly harsh sanctions.

U.S. President Barack Obama has given the Islamic Republic until September to decide whether it will agree to discuss the deal with the G-6 nations.

Israel, as well as the U.S. and other Western nations, is convinced that Iran is building a nuclear weapon of mass destruction, despite its denials.

The United States has been working on production of a mega 15-ton bunker-buster bomb that can reach underground nuclear facilities, even when buried as far as 200 feet deep. Most of Iran's nuclear plants are installed deep underground, but the 25.5-foot bunker-buster mega-bomb, to be completed by July 2010, is designed to be able to reach those depths.
