Twenty-year-old Or Hadad of Beit Dagan died on Thursday night after being accidentally shot in the back. Hadad was critically wounded in the incident, and died as doctors fought for his life in Tzfat's Ziv Hospital.

The accident took place as Hadad trained with his Golani Brigade unit in the Golan Heights. The unit was one of many to take part in Operation Cast Lead in Gaza earlier in the year.

According to an initial investigation, the bullet that hit Hadad was fired from a nearby tent. It is not yet clear if the soldiers in the tent were cleaning their weapons or had been misusing them in some way.

Hadad was the second soldier to die in training this week. Early Wednesday morning 21-year-old Staff Sergeant Uriel Peretz Liwerant was killed when his tank overturned during a training drill in the Golan.

Hadad will be buried at 12:30 p.m. Friday in the military cemetery in Rishon L'Tzion. He is survived by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
