In a special report marking the celebration of Jerusalem Day, the Manufacturers Association of Israel revealed that hareidi religious employment in Israel's capital city has leaped 70 percent in the last five years.
Of the manufacturing enterprises in Jerusalem, 55 percent currently employ hareidi religious Jews, primarily women.
Many manufacturers have reported making special kosher food arrangements for these employees, as well as providing them with places to pray. Job training programs specifically geared to hareidi religious needs and interests have increased in popularity throughout Jerusalem.
Approximately 20,000 hareidi religious Jews are employed in manufacturing across Israel, according to the Manufacturers Association.
