Officials from Home Front Command met Sunday with Israel's Chief Rabbis at the Rabbinate Office in Jerusalem to learn how to effectively teach members of the hareidi religious sector to participate in next week's nationwide "Turning Point 3" air raid exercise.

Home Front Commander Major-General Yair Golan brought along a special CD (compact disk) to be released to the hareidi religious public ahead of the exercise, according to LaDaat. The CD contains four lessons explaining what to do in the event of a missile attack. Golan said he hopes the lessons will never be necessary, although Gaza Belt residents have had practical experience in running to bomb shelters due to Kassam rocket attacks.

Sephardic Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar blessed the committee that prepared the material. “Hashem Guards and Supports Israel, and we have to thank those who have toiled in the matter,” The rabbi said. He added a special blessing for Golan. “I am blessing you that Hashem will direct you to find the most helpful ways to save lives. May we have good news.”

The chief rabbi of the northern town of Migdal HaEmek, Rabbi David Grossman, also praised the efforts of those who produced the CD. He encouraged everyone to make an effort to listen to the CD in advance, and expressed his hopes that the message contained therein will not actually be needed.
