
Gaza terrorists fired a mortar at the Eshkol region Thursday morning, the third attack in as many days in an apparent renewal of the daily routine of missile attacks on Israeli civilians.
The mortar exploded in an open area. No one was injured and no damage was reported.
The mortar attacks resumed last Saturday with a round of shells fired on the Sha'ar HaNegev region. There were no reports of injuries or damage in the attack.
The IDF has responded with aerial bombing of smuggling tunnels near the Gaza-Egypt border, where the components for the missiles and mortars are brought into the region.
Wednesday morning also began with a barrage of mortar shells fired by Hamas terrorists at Gaza Belt communities in the western Negev. The five shells exploded in the fields of a kibbutz located near to the Gaza security barrier. No one was injured and no damage was reported.
A Kassam rocket was fired towards the coastal city of Ashkelon later in the afternoon, exploding in the Hof Ashkelon (coastal) region. As with the other attacks, no one was injured and no damage was reported.
Within hours, IDF pilots struck six smuggling tunnels near the Egyptian border town of Rafiah in retaliation for the attacks earlier in the day. Four PA terrorists were wounded, according to local sources.
