Israeli scientists working with Zenith Solar have discovered a way to harvest 50 percent of the sun's radiation, compared with the standard 10 percent. The technology has been put into use in the creation of the world's first commercial thermal-electric solar farm, located in Kibbutz Yavne in southern Israel.

Roy Segev, the founder and CEO of Zenith Solar, said the technology could be used to power entire cities, and could be used anywhere on earth with enough sunlight.
