A large majority of Iranian legislators approved a bill on Sunday that urges the government to reconsider ties with countries that support “terrorism” by virtue of their opposing the Iranian Republic, according to the Iranian news agency.
The members of the parliament said that several countries that back anti-Iranian elements are profiting from trade with Tehran and then using the profits to build factories for their own nationals at the expense of Iran. The countries were not named.
“Such a behavior stands in sharp contrast with all international laws which ban ties with countries which support terrorism,” the news agency explained.
Iran is under United Nations sanctions because of it refusal to allow U.N. inspectors to gain access to its nuclear facilities under construction. The United States, Israel and most Western countries have linked Iran with Hamas and Hizbullah terrorists.
Last week, it was revealed that Israel recently bombed convoys in Sudan where weapons shipped from Iran were destined for the use by the de facto Hamas government in Gaza.
