A Palestinian Authority human rights organization has slammed an attack by unidentified terrorists on the Al Jazeera satellite television network channel in Gaza City.

The Palestinian Center for Human Right (PCHR) declared Sunday that it condemns what it called "part of the state of security chaos and proliferation of weapons plaguing" [the region].

The statement, subtitled "Misuse of Weapons by Armed Groups or Security Personnel" was sent to the media on Sunday.

According to the PCHR, Al Jazeera news producer Wissam Jammad received an anonymous call at around 9:00 p.m. Saturday night, saying an explosive device was planted near the door of the 11th floor office in central Gaza City.

As staff members began to evacuate the building, he said, they discovered a bomb had indeed been planted outside the door. A note, signed by the "Ghosts of Sameeh al-Madhoun", was found with bomb, saying, "To those with unfair media consciences, if you think of a solution it will be well-known. Leave immediately."

Sappers were called to the scene and neutralized the bomb.
