The Islamic Jihad terrorist group claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks and said they were in response to the assassination of a senior Jihad terrorist the night before.
The group regularly fired on towns in southern Israel before the assassinations as well. More than 100 rockets have hit the south since Operation Cast Lead ended in mid-January.
On Thursday morning, Gaza terrorists fired an anti-tank missile at IDF soldiers stationed near the Kissufim crossing. The soldiers were not hurt.
In response, the IAF fired on the group that had fired the missile, killing two and wounding two.
