The Public Defenders office has made a request to the State Prosecution to expunge the criminal record of many of those who fought the Disengagement and who were charged with criminal offenses.

Dr. Yoav Sapir, Deputy Chief Public Defender told Israel National TV: "Most of the people who were involved in political protest against the Disengagement plan had no prior criminal records, many of them are minors, many of them have families or are students, many served in the army and we do not think that they should carry the burden of criminal records for the rest of their lives."
