Two female Palestinian Authority Arab terrorists were stopped from carrying out a stabbing attack on the Jewish community in Hevron on Wednesday when alert IDF soldiers spotted knives during a search at a security checkpoint near the community.
Both would-be stabbers were transferred to security personnel for questioning. No injuries were reported.
In other security news, Jerusalem police were called to protect two insurance appraisers after they were attacked by Arab workers at a gas factory in the industrial area of the Atarot neighborhood.
Seven Arabs were arrested for attacking the two private inspectors, who were taking photographs at the site. One of the two appraisers who believed his life to be threatened fired a gunshot into the air.
No one was injured in the incident.
Further north, three PA Arabs were arrested in a Samarian village west of Jenin on suspicion of participating in a rock attack on Israeli soldiers who were patrolling the area earlier in the day.
While searching the suspects, IDF soldiers discovered that one was carrying an explosive device. Border Guard sappers were called to the scene to dispose of the bomb in a controlled manner.
The suspects were handed over to security personnel.
Earlier in the day, PA Arabs hurled rocks at an Israeli vehicle as it traveled through central Samaria. No one was injured in the attack, but the car was damaged.
In 2002, two Israeli civilians were killed by terrorist gunfire in the same area.
