Gaza terrorists fired three mortar shells at the western Negev on Wednesday. One was fired in the morning, and two more hit the area in the evening.

No injuries were reported in the attacks.

The three shells all hit the Eshkol region. The exact locations of the explosions have not yet been established.

Terrorists in Gaza attacked southern Israel earlier in the week as well, firing a rocket on Sunday and another on Tuesday night. The Sunday attack hit a kibbutz (cooperative community) in the Sha'ar HaNegev region and caused damage.

The IDF responded to Sunday's attack with strikes on two Hamas outposts. Gaza media reported one man dead in a strike in Beit Lahiya.

The IDF has not yet retaliated for the attacks carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Despite the attacks, the Hamas terrorist group ruling Gaza says it is still considering an 18-month ceasefire during which it would stop all rocket and mortar shell fire on Israeli towns. The group has objected to Israeli demands for a security barrier and for an end to weapons smuggling during the proposed ceasefire.
