The strikes in Israel are continuing - but more moderately. The customs and Value Added Tax workers agreed to open the Allenby Bridge for goods. Striking employees of the Labor and Welfare Ministry will facilitate the transfer of monies to four institutes for emotionally disturbed children. Finally, National Insurance Institute employees agreed to interrupt their strike long enough to process this month\'s supplementary income payments - although the money will arrive a few days late. (Unemployment payments, due tomorrow, and child allowance payments due on the 20th of the month are not included in the arrangement.) No progress in the university lecturers\' and Lands Authority workers\' strikes, however.
