The Gaza crossings have remained open to allow international aid organizations to transfer humanitarian supplies into the region despite continued rocket attacks fired by terrorists at Israel.

All of the border crossings, with the exception of the Rafiah terminal straddling the Egyptian-Gaza border, were open on Sunday.

A total of 142 trucks delivered 3,783 tons of supplies to Gaza warehouses from the World Food Program, the World Health Organization and CARE.

According to IDF Major Peter Lerner, spokesman for the Coordinator for Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), the shipments also included goods for the public sector, such as communications equipment for cellular phone companies and food commodities.

Among the commercial supplies delivered to private business owners were meat and dairy products, canned food, oil, diapers, reproductive eggs, powdered milk, flour, sugar and rice.

In addition, 792,000 liters of heavy duty diesel fuel was pumped into the region through the Nahal Oz fuel depot. The Karni Crossing conveyor was also in operation; 1,848 tons of different types of grain lalso were transferred.

"Due to two different incidents of organized theft of humanitarian aid by Hamas terrorists, UNRWA has still not resumed shipping of aid in to Gaza," noted Lerner in a statement released to the media.

He added that approximately 200 trucks were scheduled to carry goods in to Gaza via the Kerem Shalom and Karni Crossings on Monday. In addition, more fuel was expected to be pumped into the region via the Nahal Oz fuel depot.

Since Israel declared its unilateral cease fire on January 18, noted Lerner, some 77,184 tons of aid and 5,569,908 liters of fuel for the Gaza power station have been delivered to Gaza.
