Following a mortar attack by Gaza terrorists on the Eshkol Regional Council Monday morning, the Israel Air Force targeted a car in Gaza, killing one and wounding three. Israel officially said that it does not plan to resume its war against Hamas, however.
A second mortar attack on the Eshkol region followed the Israeli bombing. No one was hurt in either mortar attack, nor was damage reported.
Arab sources in Gaza report that the Israeli bomb scored a direct hit on a car traveling in southern Gaza, near Rafiah.
Fighting was heavy in the past 24 hours as well. Gaza terrorists fired at least four short-range Kassam rockets into Israel – including one that landed between two kindergartens – as well as four mortar shells; no one was hurt. The IAF bombed Hamas targets during the night, including a base in northern Gaza and six weapons-smuggling tunnels.
Israeli security sources have been quoted as saying that a few more days of “instability” can be expected in Gaza, but that neither Hamas nor Israel wish to allow the situation to deteriorate again into war.
