Professor Mordechai Kedar of Bar Ilan University believes Hamas won the latest round of fighting in Gaza. Hamas will now tighten its grip on Gaza, targeting internal enemies and making use of the billions of dollars donated towards reconstruction, he says.

Kedar says Israel's conflict with Hamas should not be taken out of context, but should be seen as part of a larger battle with the entire Arab and Muslim world, a battle that began with the creation of the state. “Israel has been in a war for 60 years, with some ceasefires here and there,” Kedar says.
