During operation Cast Lead a new organization, care4chayalim, was formed to bring supplies to help soldiers endure the winter.
Chayalim is the Hebrew word for "soldiers."

Care4chayalim has been advertising itself through the following e-mail message, which has been "making the rounds":
The Soldiers in Gaza are freezing cold.
How do we know?
A) They told us
B) Numerous Soldiers were hospitalized for frostbite.
These soldiers do not have our luxury of going inside when cold they must stand out in the cold, so that we can go in and be safe and warm.
We are collecting funds so that we can get basic necessities needed for the soldiers to be warm so they can function their best and to protect us most.
We have so far gone to deliver 3 shipments on the border of Gaza.
The chayalim have been extremely grateful for this.
However it has not been enough for all the chayalim. There are thousands of soldiers.
With your donations we can help these soldiers with their most basic needs. You can also help by letting speaking to friends and acquaintances and letting them know how they can help when they aren’t sure how.
