An explosion in a trash bin in the Kiryat HaYovel neighborhood of southern Jerusalem wounded two people this morning. The two Arab workers of the Jerusalem municipality were hurt at around 7 AM this morning. A mortar shell fired last night at an IDF base in the Gaza Strip lightly wounded a soldier who was passing by. Arabs also fired at an IDF position near Netzarim.

The many terrorist attempts late this morning, Arutz-7 correspondent Haggai Huberman noted, represented a marked escalation compared with the past two weeks or so. \"Ever since British PM Tony Blair\'s visit to Israel, there was relative quiet here,\" Huberman said, \"and now, right after Arafat\'s return from his visit in the US where he was disappointed not to have shaken Bush\'s hand, suddenly the terrorism seems to have started again.\" Today\'s incidents included a shooting at a car near Gadid; bombs near IDF patrols on the ascent to Mt. Eval near Shechem and outside Baka el-Sharkiye in western Shomron; terrorist shots at an Israeli car between Shavei Shomron and Einav, and at another one north of Ramallah and Bir Zeit. This afternoon, Arabs fired at an IDF base near Bethlehem and another one near Gadid in the south. No one was hurt in these incidents.
