Lovers of Jewish food from around the world can now savor new friendships – and each other's favorite recipes – thanks to the new Jewish Recipe Exchange forum on Israel National News.
Israel National News' newest forum, the Jewish Recipe Exchange, will provide readers with a place to share recipes, tips, and kosher substitutions, and to learn about Jewish cuisine from around the world.
Malkah Fleisher, host of Israel National Radio's popular "Woman of Valor" Eyshet Chayil program, will manage the forum, sharing her favorite recipes, starting conversation topics for participants to enjoy, and judging recipe contests in which readers can win prizes or be published in articles on Israel National News.
"Eating is a central part of Judaism," Fleisher said. "So many of our favorite holiday and social memories take place around the table, around a steaming plate piled high with tasty, nutritious, and even meaningful foods – shouldn't we spread that happiness around as much as possible?"
Fleisher believes that the new forum will not only enable Jewish and non-Jewish epicureans to share resources, but that readers of Israel National News will benefit from meeting in an environment which is relaxed and not political.
"Generally speaking, readers of Israel National News love Israel, or at least care about what goes on here," Fleisher said. "Israeli news is very interesting and important, but sometimes it can also get heavy. The Jewish Recipe Exchange will allow Israel National News readers to stay connected to the site and to Israel in a way which is less intense and more fun."
Fleisher also believes the culinary forum will round out Israel National News' coverage of events in Israel. "If you think current events in Israel are all about Hamas, Olmert, or law-making, you are sorely mistaken," Fleisher said. "Israeli life is focused around the 'home and hearth', around family, around holidays and reasons to celebrate. The Jewish Recipe Exchange will give our readers a sense of what our nation, our giant Jewish family is all about."
Readers with a variety of interests can now enjoy an array of forums catered to them, including the Jewish Dating and Marriage forum, the Israel Politics, Elections, and Activism forum, several teen forums, and even a Noahide forum called Torah Spirituality for the Nations.
