Violence has tapered down in Hevron but the city is far from being quiet, and the Jews residing in it are doubly worried because they feel the IDF is purposely abandoning them according to a spokesman for Hevron's community.

In an interview with Israel National TV, David Wilder of Hevron said: "We feel there is an intentional attempt to abandon our security here and that they are using collective punishment against us."

The Jewish residents sent a letter to the local commander, Col. Udi Ben-Mokha, and complained that they were told by soldiers that they "don't have permission" to respond to rock attacks by Arabs against Jews.
