The organizers of a ban on advertisers promoting their goods on media outlets Channel 2 and Yediot Acharonot are sponsoring a video contest to promote the boycott. The boycott aims to pressure advertisers to stop supporting media outlets that are hostile to nationalist Jews.

The competition is open to anyone who wishes to participate. Videos must be in Hebrew and between 30 and 120 seconds in length. The videos may be serious, humorous, or in any other style, but must be in good taste.

Each video should refer to at least two of the products being boycotted. Videos can be sent to yediot2008@gmail.com.

Organizers are currently collecting a list of companies and products advertising with Yediot Acharonot and Channel 2. Among the products currently on the list:

Telma cereal, Mazola margarine, Ariel laundry powder, Danona yogurt, Huggies diapers and Prigat soft drinks.

Electronics Warehouse (Machsanei Chashmal), Anak HaMazganim, Super-Pharm, Orange cellular phones, AIG auto insurance and 012 Internet service.

The boycott was kicked off recently after several groups said they would participate. Participants accuse Yediot Acharonot and Channel 2 of serving as mouthpieces for Kadima and inciting against Jews in Judea and Samaria and the political Right.

Last week Mattot Arim (Cities of Israel) head Susie Dym announced the boycott and expressed confidence that Israelis would be ready to temporarily give up certain products in order to get their message across. Hostile media reports harm all Israelis, she said. The boycott on advertisers is the best way to put an end to the media's “crazed campaign of incitement,” Dym explained.
