A group of Israeli and international experts met this week at the Prime Minister's conference on the economic crisis.

Experts said that Israel is in the midst of an economic crisis brought on by the collapse of major foreign banks. They called for free markets under a capitalist system, but with government supervision. The capitalist system is “going through another stage of development,” one conference participant said.
