An Egyptian judge has filed a complaint with the Cario police that Israel Ambassador in Egypt Shlomo Cohen's trips to their swank apartment complex's gym cause him excessive delays because of security checks. The judge claimed that Cohen's desire to keep fit is "embittering his life."

Both men live in the top floors of a Cairo executive complex, which also houses the Golden Gym. The judge, Mohammed Jaber, complained to police that Cohen's arrivals and exits at the gym force him to wait while the envoy, escorted by five security guards, travels in the apartment's elevators.

Jaber also protested that he often has to show his identification card when the Israeli ambassador is nearby.

Israel's Foreign Ministry officials in Egypt said that Jaber did not speak with them about the alleged interference in his daily life and explained that Cohen did not make any requests that Jaber be delayed.

They added that the ambassador used to work out in the gymnasium at the American School in Cairo but that has been closed.

Cairo Police have not said whether they are acting on the complaint.
