Likud believes that peace must be reached in a way that does not endanger the lives of the citizens.
Kadima party chairwoman Tzipi Livni commented Sunday morning that she is not concerned about one particular strategy of Likud party Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu. Speaking in an interview on IDF Army Radio, Chairwoman Livni dismissed the importance of the well-liked returning and new Likud party members and the threat they represent to Kadima in the upcoming elections.
One of those stars is respected former politician Benny Begin, who. has announced his return to politics and to the Likud. Begin, the son of former Prime minister Menachem Begin, is considered even by those who disagree with his politics to be a cut above most politicians and to have "clean hands" politically. Successful former IDF Spokeswoman Miri Regev has also joined. So has veteran politico Dan Meridor.
Likud officials responded Sunday morning to Livni's assertion by explaining that the common denominator among all the members in the broad Likud party is the ambition to reach peace.
However, as opposed to Livni, whose way party officials described as Yossi Beilin's path to peace, Likud said it believes that peace must be reached in a way that does not endanger the lives of the citizens of the Israel.
