Gaza terrorists continued firing rockets at the western Negev on Thursday after firing 50 short-range rockets at Israeli towns the day before. The first attack on Thursday took place in Sderot, where a rocket hit the city's cemetery and caused damage but no injuries.
Subsequent attacks targeted kibbutz cooperative farming communities near the city of Sderot. One rocket landed near a kibbutz in the morning, and two more were fired in the evening. The Islamic Jihad terrorist group claimed responsibility for the latter attacks. No injuries were reported.
Terrorists attacked three times throughout the day with firebombs. In the morning, they targeted motorists near the el-Hader junction between Jerusalem and Gush Etzion. In the evening, terrorists lobbed three firebombs at Border Police near the community of Har Adar, northwest of Jerusalem. Another attack targeted civilian motorists near Hevron. None of those targeted were hurt.
Two rock attacks were reported, one in the early afternoon at an Israeli motorist near the town of Karnei Shomron in Samaria. In the evening, a bus was damaged in a stoning attack south of Gush Etzion. No injuries were reported.
During the day IDF arrested two senior terrorists. One was Tanzim terrorist Mohammed Abu-Hadija, who is accused of planting bombs. He was arrested in Kalkilya.
The other was senior Hamas terrorist Zihad Harez, who was arrested in Shechem. Harez was behind several terrorist attacks and has been on Israel's “wanted” list for years. He was taken by Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) operatives for questioning.
